Your new third graders were AMAZING today. I was ready for a nap by 11:30, but your students just kept going- somewhat like the famous "Energizer" Bunny! It was a day to introduce procedures, create rules and get to know each other just a little bit more. It was actually a surprise for students when I told them that we still had to squeeze in two more tasks before we went home in 30 minutes. They couldn't believe how fast time had flown by. It really was a great day, there was a lot of hard work and fun at the same time. One student remarked to me, " I can hardly wait to go home...and tell my mom how much fun I had today!"
Homework folders were sent home this afternoon. Homework includes: A choice of 3 Spelling activities, Cursive handwriting of the letters- Aa-Monday, Oo- Tuesday, Dd- Wednesday, Gg-Thursday, and the beginning of many days of practicing student names. I am also sending home usernames and passwords for Envisions Math on Tuesday so that students can access and take a peek the site. And parents... there is a little homework for you as well...Please fill out the "1,000,000 Words" paper for your student so that I can get to know them just a little bit more. All homework is due back to school on Friday. Thanks for all you do! Have a great week!
Mrs. D.
