How Do People Explain Things In Nature?

This week we are moving along learning about man's  explanation about things in nature.  We are reading plays, and stories that focus on Native American storytelling.  For hundreds of years, Native Americans relied on oral language to pass stories from one generation to another.  The Cherokee were the first group of Naive Americans that created an alphabet so that their stories could be written down.  When tales were told, there was an explanation for the mysteries in nature Some of those questions answered were, Where did the sun come from? How did we get constellations in our sky? We are enjoying this week's question , How do people explain things in nature?

Yesterday we learned some fun patterning while focusing on X9s.  We're learning finger tricks as well as number patterning.  Wow- did the light go on with excitement for the multiples of nines!
