Aim For The Stars!

Last week in Reading Street, we learned about some determined, motivated, and hard-working women who became the first in their field over the last century.  It didn't matter if it was athletics, medicine, law, or space exploration, women made their mark on the world.  In many ways they showed that they were just as strong, brave, and smart as men.  Even though people told Gertrude Ederle to stop, she continued to break new records one stroke at at time.  Against all odds, Elizabeth Blackwell used her intelligence and dedication to become the first woman doctor. We decided as a class, that we are each unique, and have talents and interests that can inspire us to be the next generation of determined, motivated, and hard-working individuals.  Regardless of gender, we can be that one to break that record, or become someone that contributes to our world in a way no one else has!
